On Friday, July 8, 2022, a large contingency of National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals–Connecticut Chapter (NAPO-CT) members gathered in Stamford to transform The Junkluggers warehouse into a workable and shop-able environment for the Remix Market. What was needed was an efficient incoming/outgoing processing of the furniture and housewares, adequate signage to easily locate specific areas, and a beautiful presentation to make the shopping experience enjoyable. The object was to create a shopping-friendly environment for the Remix customers. After a full 8-hour onsite workday, NAPO-CT members successfully reached their goal. Pictures are worth a thousand words.

The Junkluggers informed NAPO-CT that Remix Market increased sales during the month of August with a donation to Mikey’s Way Foundation of $10,000. Yipee! Such a success warms the organizers’ hearts and makes our total effort worthwhile.

Many hands make light work

Pre-team

Of course, there is always some pre-work and behind-the-scene tasks before the organizing begins. A dedicated group of NAPO-CT organizers came together from all over the state to view, measure, strategize, and diagram what would potentially happen on the makeover day as well as document the ‘before‘ with videos and photographs. A huge thank you to those who volunteered to oversee this massive project.

Early morning preparations

Tents were erected in the parking area, tables were opened and extra T-shirts were distributed before the organizing began. Banker boxes were assembled and shelving was constructed. All this required time and many helping hands before the ‘start’ whistle blew.

Many, many thanks

Many thanks to Matt Baier, NAPO-CT Past President, owner of Matt Baier Organizing, and Chief Coordinator of the 2022 Summer Makeover Project. The camera caught Matt’s reflection in the mirror as he adjusted his hair after a long hot day at work.

And, the complete makeover wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment, dedication, and hard work of NAPO-CT members and Business Partners and the crew from The Junkluggers, Fairfield/Westchester who all worked together to not only transform the available space within the warehouse but create beauty and organization.

And, yes, we achieved beauty and organization

Many thanks to The Junkluggers for their help in purging, moving furniture, and assisting the organizers wherever needed. That’s TEAMWORK!

Many thanks to Pat Creedon, owner of Pat Creedon Design and a NAPO-CT Business Partner, for taking on the signage project from the front door ‘Welcome to Remix Market’ to the hanging ceiling signs that now direct customers to different areas within the warehouse. CLICK HERE to view the other signs that were installed to make for a clear, easy location of the different departments.

Many, many thanks to Bob Trimper, owner of Professional Hangups for taking time from his busy picture-hanging business to secure the artwork and mirrors on the walls. We couldn’t have done it without you!

All smiles for a successful makeover — NAPO-CT Members and Business Partners, Bob the picture hanger, and The Junklugger’s Remix Team

Did we have fun? You bet we did! What a team!

Lunch Time – The outside patio may not seem inviting but the hungry crew appreciated the wraps, salad, dessert, drinks, and a chance to sit for a while.
