the 1st Annual
Northeast Regional Conference
and Professional Organizers
Saturday, November 7, 2015 ~ 8:00am – 4:30pm
Seana Turner, NAPO-CT President and Susan O’Connell, NAPO-CT Director of Professional Development initiated the idea of a regional conference. Little did they know how valuable this concept would become.
In less than 6 months this ambiguous idea had a name, a venue, an agenda, 3 speakers, vendors, donations for goody bags and raffles, games and discussion group questions.
Website registration was set up and email blasts were sent out to alert neighboring chapters that NAPO-CT was on a roll and actively sponsoring this event.
This fun-fill, all-day event was held on the top floor of The Atrium Senior Living in Stamford CT and included a gorgeous view, parking, breakfast, lunch, discussion groups, prizes and CEUs included.
The NERCPO Committee comprising of energetic NAPO-CT members were conservative on their expectation of 25 attendees. From the pictures below, you can see that the room was crowded and if we were to continue NERCPO we would have to locate a larger facility.
Seana Turner, with a spark of fun and energy, was the M/C keeping the agenda progressing minute-by-minute. Alex Modica of ShelfGenie, as Conference Sponsor, held a spot for teaching attendees the value of organized shelving in hard to access spaces.
