Welcome New Member!
We are pleased you decided to join NAPO-CT and become a Productivity and Organizing Professional. Here is information you may find helpful.
NAPO-CT holds monthly meetings the third Friday of every month at Eli’s on Whitney in Hamden from 9am-12pm. (No meetings in December, July and August).
Because we are truly enjoy spending time with each other, we usually hold a Holiday Social in December, Summer Social in July or August, and a Summer Organizing Event where all members can participate and showcase their talents. Check out the 2019 Journey Home Makeover and the three Contests of previous years. Check the events calendar to see upcoming events you could participate with colleagues.
If you have any questions about NAPO-CT Events or other chapter issues check the CONTACT page to send us an email.
The goal of our chapter meetings is education and networking. We have a topic for each meeting which benefits the Productivity and Organizing Experts. There is always something to learn.
- How to run your business
- How to work with clients
- How to utilize social media and other marketing strategies
- Helpful organizing tools and resources
- And so much more…
Our Business Partners attend meetings to share the benefits of their products and services. We love the collaboration they bring to benefit the members.
Please RSVP for each meeting beforehand so that we can set up the room appropriately and order breakfast items. You can use the RSVP form on the website or log into your account and the form is already filled in for you.
The annual membership drive and renewal is the month of October. Dues are payable online and must be paid before the end of the month in order to avoid a $25 reinstatement fee. Remember, National membership is a requirement to remain a chapter member.
The annual fee for NAPO-CT membership is $125. Business Partner annual membership fee is $250. There is a $25 processing fee for new members.
In November, NAPO-CT hosts NERCPO — Northeast Regional Conference for Productivity and Organizing Professional.
This is a full day of learning and networking with colleagues and vendors from around the northeast–from Maine to Pennsylvania and beyond. It includes breakfast, lunch, beverages and snacks, vendor expo, speakers, games, raffles and lots of goodies provided by vendors and donors.
Annual NAPO Conference
NAPO National holds an annual conference in the spring, usually in April. The location of the national conference varies from year to year across the country. NAPO National also has NAPO University which offers live webinars, podcasts and on-demand courses. There is a certification process members can undergo to become a Certified Professional Organizer or work towards several specialty certificates. All information is found on NAPO.net
NAPO-CT invests in our members’ continued education by purchasing access to the conference recordings of all workshops and keynote speakers — an added membership benefit. Instructions to access the recordings is listed on the MEMBERS ONLY page. (You must log in to your account to access this page.)
Check our the Institute for Challenging Disorganization (ICD) which is a specialty subgroup of professional organizing. Several members belong to both organizations. ICD also offers webinars and has a certification track.
Another specialty subgroup is the Association of Personal Photo Organizers (APPO) founded by Connecticut’s organizer, Cathi Nelson. If you are interested in photo organizing, check this association for information on this specialized conference.
Check out your local chamber of commerce and other networking groups for meetings in your area as well as SCORE volunteers to help new business owners.
Please let us know if we can answer any additional questions you have. We look forward to seeing you at our next NAPO-CT Chapter meeting.
